How to Prepare Artwork for Custom Acrylic Standees

Good artwork preparation makes a custom acrylic standee order easier to review and helps the finished piece match the intended design. Use this checklist before uploading files to the Custom Acrylic Standees product page.
1. Start with the intended finished size
Choose the standee size before finalizing small text and fine details. LXacrylic currently lists 7 cm, 10 cm, 12 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm options. A detail that is easy to read on screen may become very small on a 7 cm piece, so preview the artwork at approximately its finished size.
2. Use high-resolution source artwork
Upload the original design file or a high-resolution export whenever possible. Avoid screenshots, images copied from messaging apps and files that have been repeatedly compressed. Zoom in and check the edges of the artwork: visible pixelation on screen can also appear in print.
3. Make the background intentional
If the standee should follow the shape of a character, logo or object, make sure the background is not accidentally included in the artwork. If a colored or illustrated background is part of the design, keep it deliberately. The production layout should make the intended outer shape easy to understand.
4. Protect important details near the edge
Keep faces, text, logos and other essential details away from the intended cut edge. A little breathing room makes the layout clearer and reduces the risk that important artwork feels crowded after cutting. Exact production spacing can be confirmed during layout review.
5. Label front and back files
If both sides use the same design, say so clearly. If the two sides are different, label the files “front” and “back” and check the orientation of both. Remember that the relationship between the two sides matters when the standee is viewed after assembly.
6. Prepare the base artwork when needed
A base can be simple or customized. If the base includes a logo, pattern, name or other artwork, provide it as a separate, clearly labeled file. Keep critical text readable at the selected base size.
7. Organize multi-design and bulk orders
For an order with several designs, use consistent filenames and a short specification list. For each design, record:
- Design name or number
- Quantity
- Finished size
- Same or different artwork on both sides
- Acrylic finish
- Base artwork, if applicable
This structure helps each file stay connected to the correct production choices.
8. Review the proof carefully
Before approval, inspect spelling, color expectations, size, orientation, cut shape and base placement. Compare the proof against the original order list, especially when several designs are included. If something is unclear, resolve it before manufacturing begins.
